Description

Many of todays as well as future mobile applications rely on direct wireless communication between smartphones such as file sharing, media streaming, gaming, as well as disaster communication.

In the Android world, you can use Wi-Fi Direct to interconnect mobile devices, while in the Apple world, there is the Apple Wireless Direct Link (AWDL) protocol. Currently, the only working cross-platform technology is Bluetooth which only offers very limited bandwidth.

In this work, you will implement the recently reverse-engineered AWDL protocol in the Linux OS or the Nexmon Framework. AWDL uses channel hopping and synchronization which requires tight bounds on timing making a driver implementation inevitable.
