Biography

Nairy Gholian is currently pursuing her Ph.D. studies at Technische Universität Darmstadt’s Computer Science department in Germany. Her research focuses mainly on developing new techniques for agile and proactive beam alignment and handover for V2X. The goal is to meet the stringent QoS demands of mmWave V2X communication in terms of data rate (Gbps), latency (< 5ms) and reliability (10-8 failure rate).

Nairy obtained her B.Sc. degree in “Electronics Engineering” and her M.Sc. degree in “Communications Systems Engineering”. Her M.Sc. thesis is titled “Load balancing for D2D-based communications in 5G networks”. In her thesis, she developed a new technique for load balancing and power control in heterogenous networks with the presence of D2D connections, which also resulted in an improvement in energy and spectral efficiency and outage probability. Nairy was also working as a laboratory instructor during her M.Sc. studies. During the time, she taught the “Electronics Circuits” and “Communication Circuits” lab courses to undergraduate students of engineering.
