The seminar Security in Ad hoc, Sensor, and Mesh Networks (SWMN) is offered each summer term.

Please note that the seminar language will be German, but can be switched to English if all students agree. Individual talks can be given in English, though.

The first session for summer 2015 takes place on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 17:00 in S202/C120. All organizational details will be discussed during this first session.

The seminar investigates the latest advances in network security, which are expected to impact on the long-term evolution of the field of networked communications in general. Goal of the seminar is to explore the aforementioned research area by studying, critically analyzing and discussing, summarizing, and presenting selected first-rate research articles. Topics include but are not limited to:

  • Censorship resistance
  • Emergency communication
  • Privacy protection in wireless sensor networks and participatory sensing
  • Security in wireless sensor networks
  • Lightweight cryptography for wireless networks
  • Robustness and resilience in mobile and wireless networks
  • Security in delay-tolerant networks
  • Secure routing and forwarding
  • Novel security architectures in networks
  • Security in the future Internet

Learning outcomes: Investigation of state-of-the-art research topics by studying, critically analyzing and discussing selected research articles. Summarizing, presenting, and defending research contributions.
