[Abstract of final thesis] Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) technology is very popular these days which raises the need for strong security mechanisms. Penetration testing uses the methods of a potential attacker to detect security holes. However, penetration testing is done on a PC these days which is tedious. The Nexmon project enables monitor mode and injection capabilities for smartphones with Broadcom WiFi chip. Subsequently, we present the Nexmon application for Android that consists of a complete penetration testing suite with graphical user interface (GUI) - a new way for flawless, discrete, and mobile WLAN penetration tests.
